Baiying Mountain in Lincang is home to thousands of acres of old-growth tea gardens. The leaves of this tea were picked from these naturally grown ancient tea trees (many as old as 1000-years-old). The dry leaves of this tea are thinner and darker than other pu-erh tea leaves because of a special variety native to this mountain called Black Strip (hei tiaozi). This tea is silky and soft, yet intense and complex. It is one of those rare teas that causes one to want to be alone, allowing the tea to transport one to a faraway place where a gentle spring breeze blows and daily stress falls away. This tea will beckon you back again and again.
