Type: Raw Pu-erh (unfermented)
Grade: 1-3
Production area: Baotang Village, Mengsong Township, Menghai County, Yunnan Province

Among the villages in Mengsong Township, Baotang Village is particularly well-known for its ancient tea gardens. The aborigines in the area are mainly of the Lahu tribe, who planted the tea trees centuries ago. The aroma of the dry leaves possesses honey and rose fragrance. The tea broth is brisk, soft, and well-balanced. The initial slight bitterness quickly turns into a sweet aftertaste that comfortably coats your throat. Smell the empty cup after the tea is consumed to continue enjoying the intoxicating aroma this tea offers. This is an incredible raw pu-erh that is ready to be drunk now or to be aged for the future.

Also available in a 5-cake tung.

Scintillating 04/17/2025

This is the first cake I have purchased (from Bana or at all!) and I know I will be back for more. The cake has an allure that I haven't experienced with any other medium of tea leaves. New love bells? I think so.
Each steeping belies this....golden complexity...that, like troubled water, is the same mass of impenetrable complexity at first glance, but, when studied, shows a symphony that is addicting! Brewing at the recommended steeping times I find a mass of honey and dewy rose caught in my throat. This is constant through each steep. A few seconds later, waves and waves of anglo-saxon sweet spice mix, peppermint, hay, rambutan, and nectarine roll thick clouds. By the 4th brewing I was lost in the hui gan -- from deep in my throat, spilling into my mouth, sinuses, like an easy morning fog over yet blue mountains. This eases into a playful hui tian, a question mark or after-image of the initial honeyrose, that enticed me towards cup and cup. Steady qi. I will be buying this again.

Our responseWow! Thank you so very much for such a nice review. Thank you for the steep by steep description of the tea. I am going to get a cup right now. :)

How can this tea be offered at this price??!! It is a really well crafted tea with quality material. It will continue to age and improve, but is really delicious right now. Don't hesitate. Linda only sells great tea.
Our responseThank you so much for your kind words and confidence of my teas. Baotang is a well-known area in Mengsong, one of my favorite pu-erh regions.
