The tea enhanced the discussion08/25/2025 ByJulie I wanted to let you know how much my book club enjoyed the wonderful Book Club Tasting Kit for The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See! I lead the Noonday Nosh Book Club at the Roswell Library in metro Atlanta. This month, Lisa very kindly took time out of her schedule to join us online. Before the discussion, we tasted the different Pu-erh teas included. Everyone loved the tea! We were so excited to taste the tea that is featured so prominently in the novel. Thank you for creating the tasting kits and helping us explore this unique and delicious tea.

AHHHHHH09/29/2024 BySusan Argutto The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane was our September 2024 title. As hostess, my menu included wine, of course, delicious Chinese food along with Tuo Cha Ripe Pu-erh tea. When I took out the mini cakes of tea, everyone jumped up and came running into the kitchen to see them and smell them. We were all excited to taste it...Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! This tea took me back to my childhood in New York City when and where the tea served with our Chinese restaurant meals was distinctively smooth, aromatic and comforting. After everyone left, I poured the remaining tea into a mason jar, refrigerated it and used it for the next two days cutting it with fresh boiling water. It is delicious as well as embracing with its uniqueness. The tea leaves are safely stored awaiting their next use. This tea was praised by all of us. Tea Girl…” bookclub tea tasting kit05/06/2024 ByJanet Soinski Pretty with attractive presentation, and pretty expensive. I doubt it’s the very good pu-erh, but my bookclub of 8 had fun with the 3 tea samples and the 2 mini tea cakes the diameter of a quarter. Some instructions were included, but I needed more information on prep (rinsing) before the meeting. We enjoyed identifying the different tastes and smells and sensations. Tea Tasting 07/18/2023 ByPhyllis Conlan I hosted a tea tasting for my book group, and it was lots of fun. I wasn’t sure how to organize it, but ended up gathering my 4 little pots, and brewed one package of tea at a time. We sipped and kept notes of our impressions. We then referred to the pamphlet and appreciated the background information on the various teas. It was a real education. The tasting drew us back to See’s book to reread pertinent passages.
