This gaiwan is decorated with classical Chinese landscape designs on the vessel, cup and saucer. Tea connoisseurs often brew the tea right in the gaiwan although it may also be used conventionally as a tea cup, the lid serving the dual function of keeping the tea warm and to block the tea leaves during consumption. This is a large gaiwan that is approximately 3 5/8" wide x 3.5" tall and holds up to 5.75 ounces (150mL) of tea to lid level. It is the perfect size when brewing for two or more persons. This beautiful white porcelain gaiwan is decorated with blue pigment in the "blue and white" qinghua style. .

Tea Time is Special 08/10/2020
By Donna Bean
I love the blue and white Gaiwan; it makes tea time special. I was surprised and pleased to find two samples of other teas enclosed with my order. The teas I purchased are flavorful, with each brewing giving a slightly different taste. Each tea came with a set of instructions on brewing times for each subsequent steep. I contacted Bana with a question and was surprised and delighted to hear back directly from the owner. Excellent customer service!
Our responseThe Gaiwan is a simple and functional tea brewing vessel that people have been using for centuries. I am glad it makes your tea time special.
