Oh, Sugar, Sugar 01/29/2026

Unique title I know, but as intriguing as the name of this Oolong is, I think once you try it you will be imploring the shop to send you more of the Drunken Concubine … and yes, you guessed it… ANOTHER Stellar offering from BANA TEA CO….

According to Bana, this tea was roasted for 22 hours over a three day period to bring out a variety of flavors… including roasted coffee, roasted coconut and burnt sugar.
I brewed this one following their brewing instructions, using 6g of leaves per 6 grams of water, with 200F water.

For me, as soon as I poured the first small cup, and took the lid off my pot to smell the wet leaves, the scent of burnt sugar was obvious…

As I engaged the first sip, the flavors of roasted coffee and coconut were light, but grew stronger with subsequent brews… leaving a nice finish… no astringency with this one…
As with most of Bana’s offerings, I am setting next to a candle, listening to smooth sax and reading or writing a review for Bana’s lat

Our responseWhat a way to enjoy this tea! Thank you for your kind review. While many young people like the floral lightly oxidized version of Tieguanyin, I like the more oxidized and roasted version like this one.

Having run across the value of aging tea completely by accident makes me want to (hopefully humorously attempt) to share value with others
Our responseSo good that you are trying teas not only across the spectrum of tea types, but the ages of tea. It is a new level of appreciation.

This is my new favorite tea! So warm, round, rich, and soft. No harsh or bitter notes sometimes found in black tea.
Our responseThank you for being a fan of Bana Tea. We hope to bring you more good teas.
