White Lotus 10-piece Fine Bone China Tea Set

This set is used to serve tea in the traditional style of the Chinese Gongfu Chinese Tea Ceremony. The three-piece "gaiwan" is used to brew the tea. Several successive brews of the tea are combined in the "fairness pitcher," which serves to average-out the several brews into a "fair" mixture. The tea is then poured from the fairness pitcher into the tea cups. Please note that the tea cups are purposely designed to be small in size so the tea can cool quickly to a drinkable temperature and be savored sip by sip. The Chinese Gongfu tea ceremony is often used as a reason for several friends to gather in a socially relaxing setting. The constant brewing and enjoyment of the tea at an optimum temperature enhances the conversation and interaction among friends. If you are new to the Chinese Gongfu Tea Ceremony, please note that the gaiwan and tea cups are sized to promote enjoyment of the tea in consumable portions and not to brew tea in large volume.
